"Here"
Remember all of those things our grandmas and mamas told us not to do
Like smoking, drinking, and going to parties we had no business going to?
Cause in late night hours teens make rash decisions
Liquor and peer pressure clouding your vision
We only came to this party to fit in
But no here really cares about us they're not really our friends
And now we're looking stupid as we keep trying to blend in
Get another drink cause we want this anxiety to end

"So Much For Black Lives Matter:"
"Black Lives Matter" is a cultural atrocity
A lie told to the public accompanied by marketing
A pillow of deceit to help a naive public sleep
Imaginary food for an oh-so-real need to eat
"Black Lives Matter" addressing modern day slavery
Spearheaded by people who aint who they calm to be
A bandaid for an issue that's culturally detested
On the skin of a system "democracy" requested
-Essence Davis

Sensitivity
In this world, in this world, people rip out our glass hearts,
eject them, project them into the sky,
and they are shattered by the wind,
and each shimmering piece falls upon us like rain during the monsoon,
cutting our flesh, leaving open wounds for all to see.
And this show of red, our vulnerability, do not undermine our sensitivity!
This is for those who cry for the frozen bird, lying on the ground,
covered in a crystalline layer of ice, perfectly preserved,
or for those who don’t take too well to the N word
—It’s not because I’m not black enough,
it’s because its disrespectful and destructive to where we should all want to be in society.
And original meanings still matter to me,
spelling and pronunciation doesn’t change the word.
